Well, this tiny fistful of dust is kicking at cobwebs, and possibly even stomping on your daisies. My apologies. I used to to the barefoot type, back when needles and debris was less common. When did candor become a crime? Here we stand, woman to woman, saying:

I have this pet hate when it comes to diminutive nicknames. It's a stubborn trait that I share with my male friends. How can anyone, in the year 2023 still think this is acceptable? I'm not even my mother's honey, much less my father's. I'm pretty sure last time I checked, I was NOT yours.
This is me, not interested in your half-hearted attempt to make me feel special. Go home, and call your wife that. It is your prerogative. Call your daughter that. Just do not forget that when we walk into the boardroom or now the more popular Skype/ Zoom/ G-chat meetings.
Call me "baby" and I say "Excuse me?"
Call me "honey" and I do one of two things. I either leave the building or I start dropping some of my own into the conversation. This is not me flirting! This is me trying my best to annoy you right back.
At least for now.
This writer has got to breathe. Poetry and fiction later today, cause come rain or shine, read my lips: I AM NOT LOSING. Learning ? Yes. Life is a journey of discovery. And what a crooked path it is.
