When East meets West

When East meets West

When East meets West

Misconceptions.

There seems to be this assumption (you know that word I despise.) that us Eastern countries are full of shamans and gurus, willing to induce a trance state through "plant medicine".

True enough, for foreign visitors who actively seek to do this.

I just wonder why, my wayward wanderers. Living here, I have seen plenty of Westerners searching for a "heightened spiritual" experience.

Problem is, what may be good for the locals can seriously mess with your mind.

We live here, we have adapted. Our body and brain chemistry differs.

Setting the scene:

Take the example of monkeypox. The settlers brought it to my continent, unknowingly (?) It decimated an entire region, culture, and generation. Was that the intention? I hope not, but it is past. Leave it behind you.

As time passed, the surviving native inhabitants not only adapted. They evolved. Most of the children born in these places now, come into the world with the antibodies in their blood.

They survived. As they keep surviving despite malaria, Ebola, and yes, Covid. Many lost lives, but due to a ridiculous *(just my opinion) * birth rate, the children are protected.

Some would call it the miracle of childbirth. Often the "Sacred She" will creep into conversations. Rumours about covens and voodoo magic during the hunt. Did she or did she not ingest the placenta?

One cannot blame them for speculating. As around here, many fathers only met their new-borns after 3 to 7 days. It's a religious custom. Its cultural phenomena.

You understand this picture? I cannot say it is wrong, simply because my culture differs. Do I find it strange? Yes, more often than not. Still, who am I to judge?

Is that me being outrageous? Possibly. It could be construed as borderline insolent, AGAIN. As if I make it my mission in life to hurt the feelings of others?

(In my defence, at least I received an apology). [Reminder: Empty words; part 2]

So, the scene is set.

Western consumerism.

Every on social media these days, you'll hear discussions about the use of Ketamine. Why you should or should not be using it.

Specialist doctors argue pro-ketamine micro dosing as a life(style?) enhancer.

This may be true. Personally, I'm sitting on the fence. As I said, I live in a developing country. I have first-hand experience. The rabbit-hole in this case is deep and dangerous.

This is me, telling all of my readers: "Don't do it". It's no gimmick. Just a trap. One you don't want to step in. Your dollars and euros make YOU vulnerable. Act wiser.

Here lies the problem.

As an individual, confident in yourself, you are not a medical professional*

No healthy person needs to be enhanced. Your body and your mind are supposed to work together. If you force your brain by inducing an unnatural state, the body will leave. As in YOU CAN DIE. How many beautiful souls have we lost to depression and SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). Prozac, Lexapro, Zoloft to name the most common.

I would like to ask one question, and get a decent answer: Are you pushing uppers to combat these commonly used downers? What is the endgame here? Are we not already enslaved?

See, these are the unanswered questions that keep me awake at night. That make me pop a pill. I know, just your garden variety OVERTHINKING. ~ F.Y.I., my specialist agrees.

*(If you are, then you're well aware of the ever-increasing addiction to Adderall. Research shows us that amongst second year and third year medical students, the addiction rate doubles, then triples. Until 90% of final year students cannot study or write exams without using.)

And we are supposed to trust your judgement? I think not.

A chemical is a chemical. Nature included.

Call me a cynic, but do not call me a liar.

The problem is a "market" exists. Every day it's growing stronger. In South Africa alone, I do not know of a single person without a dealer on speed dial. Quite often it is your doctor or your pharmacy. Sometimes you just "know someone who knows someone".

As I considered writing this, I asked myself a pertinent question. Am I just being envious. Well, the answer to that is a hard "NO!"

As I said, there is an expanding market. With it comes lust, avarice, and gluttony. Don't blame the user/ consumer. Blame corrupted medical practitioners. They already KNOW whether you are vulnerable. For many, these so-called advisors are in reality the only ones who know all your deepest secrets. We place our trust in the "Hippocratic Oath".

Sure. You can argue that in London, New York, and Paris you're getting the cleanest version of whatever you choose. What did I once hear in a movie? "We are W.A.S.P.'s my dear, we can get anything we want."

Now, this stands for White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. According to the Urban dictionary: "A slang term that refers to the upper middle-class person…These people usually go to prep schools and give off an upper-class energy." Way to go my Yale friends!

Makes one wonder where all that suppose ENERGY comes from? Bought for $100? Where do I sign?

Well, we can talk about this for hours. I want to say, "That's all Folks!" but it's not. All I am willing to commit to at the moment is my 2cents:

Stop talking about it. You admit you do not know. Why make us think/ consider it? Don't you dare call it EDUCATION.

Ok, subhuman love. Unite. Standing stronger together. We move forward with each tiny victory. Keep up the love. Live with passion. We understand each other.

"Slide" 😉
