Dear Mandela

You have been a tough act to follow. The man who gave South Africans hope will always be remembered, not just today.

A dreamer, a man with vision. I wonder what he would tell me as I write this. To keep following my dream? Or to push the boundaries the current policy makers have set for us? Overall, I think he will understand. Life has not been the same. Corruption. Violence. Poverty. The middle classes becoming extinct. The upper echelons sitting pretty. Somewhere, someone is having a laugh.

Or just Google, YouTube, and FB it. It's all there. Mandela's inspirational quotes, his history, his story. Personally, I just saw someone willing to buy Mandela money - It is tempting. Then again, I like my "old money". For now. What tomorrow brings? Who knows. It's not like I'm rolling in it.

Our president had his own views on what it meant to be human. I've played with that idea, let us see:

• H - HOW

• U - Underestimated Underachievers

• M - Man & womankind

• A - Act

• N - Now

Not my best work. Still, it is relevant in 2023. I could produce several more main-stream acronyms, but by tomorrow, I'll be inundated with them. Every critic will have a field day. Every, single, lapdog of the South African government will soon release their own.

Tonight, I will get out of my Cinderella rags. Unfortunately, my boots are too big, so I hope Prince Charming finds the right girl. Yes, I wear boots with my ballgowns- it is comfortable. The slippers pinch! Cannot dance in them i.e. no freaking fun!

Knowing my fairy godmother, the coach will turn into a pumpkin at midnight. The driver will revert to being a feral cat, and well, I'll be stuck. Royalty does not enter by the servant's door. Please note the one who brings you your tea.

Here's a hint - I kind of look like your d'moiselle. Ashes on the forehead for religion. Stains under the nails.

if E=mc*(2), W. Daniel Hillis poses a good question: Special Relativity: Why can't you go faster than light? Which he explains in detail on page 55 of a little book, called SCIENCE, MIND & COSMOS - out of print but 60p in 1996! Daniel, I do not want to go faster than light. I would like to travel back in time though.
